La Belle Liegeoise
The Liège waffle, also called sugar waffle, is unsurprisingly of Belgian origin. According to the oldest accounts, the recipe for the Liège waffle was written in the 18th century thanks to the Prince-Bishop of Liège. He wanted something tasty and sweet to satisfy his taste buds and asked his cook to surprise him.
Promise kept, with the creation of the true recipe of the Liège waffle based on pieces of pearl sugar mixed with a vanilla paste.
